Governors Ben Ayade and David Umahi as well as Godswill Akpabio, Ndudi Elumelu and others have emerged winners in the maiden edition of The Top10 Magazine Excellence Awards 2021.
Announcing the winners of the various categories of the awards via a statement, the board of editors of The Top10 Magazine listed Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State as the Governor of the Year in recognition of his business-friendly governance and ability to stimulate growth of the Cross River State’s economy through innovative investment initiatives.
Governor Dave Umahi, of Ebonyi State is named Political Leader of the Year in recognition of his patriotic and nationalistic disposition as a leading voice in the promotion of national interest. Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, was named Minister of the Year in recognition of his bold and courageous efforts at restoring sanity, transparency and accountability to NDDC, while Ndudi Elumelu, Minority leader, House of Representatives was named Legislator of the Year in recognition of his role as a stabilizing factor in the Nigerian National Assembly by providing responsible opposition leadership. Bashir Jamoh, DG/CEO, NIMASA, on the other hand won the award of the Public Service Personality of the Year in recognition of the milestone achievements of NIMASA under his leadership within a short period of time.
Other winners of the awards include – BAM Properties as Real Estate Company of the Year in recognition of its contribution to housing development in Nigeria, Noor Takaful Africa is the Financial Institution of the Year in recognition of its efforts to change the narrative in the Nigerian insurance sector through innovative product and service delivery. Chinmark Group emerged Nigeria’s Global Brand of the Year in recognition of its foray into the global market with presence in many countries of the world. Mrs. Ichechi Okonkwo, CEO, Victoria Crest Homes is Female Business Leader of the Year in recognition of her innovative drive in piloting the Victoria Crest Homes in delivering excellence in provision of affordable housing in Nigeria. Others are Piggyvest as Tech Company of the Year in recognition of its innovative solutions as the most secured financial saving platform. Buckler Ordinances System as Security Service Provider of the Year in recognition of its innovative security solutions for maximum protection of VIPs. Niyi Adesanya, CEO, FifthGear Plus Consulting as Leadership Coach of the Year in recognition of his leading role in redefining leadership training in Nigeria. Ardova Plc is the Oil & Gas Company of the Year in recognition of its successful transformation as Nigeria’s leading player in the downstream sector. Monument Group is the Company of the Year in recognition of its organization’s progressive accomplishments with tentacles in key sectors of the Nigerian economy.
In a statement, the organizers of the awards, The Top10 Magazine, said that the winners were selected based on their outstanding accomplishments in their various endeavours after a rigorous selection process of many other equally prominent and outstanding nominees across the various categories, in an exercise that involved various stages of screening. The organizers said that the award presentation ceremony would take place at the prestigious Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos, in November this year.
The Excellence Awards is conceived by The Top10 Magazine as an annual event to celebrate and honour outstanding personalities and organizations that have made the difference in various endeavours in Nigeria. The objective is to celebrate and reward excellence in line with the core value of the magazine which is to celebrate individuals and organizations that represent excellence in the various sectors of the Nigerian society.
