Bayelsa Police arrest 3 suspected kidnappers

Operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command, on Saturday, arrested three suspected kidnappers.

They also recovered one .9mm ammunition, a red Toyota Camry car with a mutilated number plate and N1million cash from the suspects.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat, to journalists in Yenagoa, on Saturday.

It identified the suspects as Emmanuel Ebisco, Williams Zikena, Ekparola Okumo.

The command said they were picked up at their hideout in Biogbolo-Epie community, Yenagoa, following a tip-off that they wanted to buy an AK-47 rifle to carry out a kidnap.

The statement read, “Operatives of the anti-kidnapping unit, Bayelsa State Command, have arrested three suspected kidnappers, recovered one .9mm ammunition, Red Toyota Camry with mutilated plate number and one million naira cash.

“The suspects: Emmanuel Ebisco ‘m’ 38 years, Williams Zikena ‘m’ 39 years, Ekparola Okumo ‘m’ 35 years, were arrested at their hideout at Biogbolo community, Yenagoa, following a tip-off that they wanted to procure an AK-47 rifle to carry out a kidnap.

“The suspects have volunteered useful information and are assisting the police in its investigation. They will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.”
