Borno residents beg FG to release DCP Kyari

Some residents of Borno State have pleaded with the Federal Government to release DCP Abba Kyari, following the death of his mother.

Kyari has been in detention for over one year for alleged corruption.

An indigene, Baba Gana Kyari, in a statement yesterday, called on the government to grant him bail. He added that people frown upon his prolonged incarceration.

According to him, Kyari “would definitely be compensated by the People of his state in 2027 and his enemies will see his ultimate greatness in 2027 by GOD’s Grace.

“This is injustice. How can a man who served Nigeria meritoriously be treated this way. It is wrong.

He recalled how Kyari led the operation that ended suicide bombers in Borno State in 2018 by arresting all the terrorists involved in over 200 Suicide bombings in the state, by the singulair action,

“He saved thousands of lives in Borno State. He and his team also arrested the Boko Haram terrorists that kidnapped the Chibok School Girls in 2014 among hundreds of good he has done for our people in Borno and Yobe States. He is our hero and Legend and we will compensate him unfailingly by God’s Grace,” he said.

Another residents Alli Mohammed asked: “Why are they holding him?” saying “They can keep him but we know he’s here with us.

“Kyari is a good man. When he is reed, we would declare him a hero because he is our hero. He served us well and served the country well.” (Sun)
