President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate requesting that Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede be confirmed as the Secretary of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. In a letter dated September 10, 2018, which was addressed to Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Buhari asked that Olukoyede, who is currently the chief of staff to the acting chairman of the EFCC, Mr Ibrahim Magu, be confirmed in accordance with Section 2 of the EFCC Act. The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Felix Meduoye, has urged the Federal Government to do all it could to bring back the remaining Dapchi schoolgirl with Boko Haram, Leah Sharibu. The teenager was among the 110 schoolgirls abducted by the insurgents on February 19, 2018. While others were released and five were unaccounted for, Sharibu was detained because she refused to convert to Islam as demanded by her captors. Read more

The team of the Nigerian Army on Search and Rescue Operations for Maj. Gen. Idris Alkali (retd.) has recovered a Toyota Hiace from the mining pond in Dura-Du area of Jos South Local of Area of Plateau State. Police arrest 23-year-old old for killing sick septuagenarian (Punch)
The police in Osun State have arrested a 23-year-old man, Julius Olatunji, for allegedly sneaking into the residence of a septuagenarian, Ojo Durojaye, and killing him after stealing his property. Toddler stolen in Lagos, sold in Delta, Anambra, Enugu (Punch)
A two-year-old girl, who was stolen by a trafficking syndicate, has been rescued by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Lagos State Police Command. The victim, who was sold for N300,000 to a buyer in Delta State, was reportedly resold to another member of the syndicate in Anambra State, who resold her to a woman in Enugu State. Read more
