The Catholic Church has refused to fire a priest who told police he was trying to rape women after he was arrested naked at a mall.
Reverend Jeremy Wind, 39, was meeting with a female parishioner at a Sioux Center bakery in 2013 when he told her he was going to masturbate, according to the AP. Wind proceeded to take his pants off, prompting the woman to run away.
The semi-naked priest then chased the woman to her car, where she locked the door as he yelled about raping her and pounded on the window.
“I was so horrified, I thought what am I going to do?” the told police according a statement obtained by AP.
“I sat for a while because I didn’t want to hurt him. When he started banging so hard I thought he was going to break the window, I drove away,” she said.
A police officer discovered Wind at the nearby Centre Mall shortly after the incident at the bakery.
Wind said he had no pants on because he ‘wanted to rape her’ and told the officer to write that statement down, according to the report. He then said that he also wanted to rape the officer, ripped the officer’s name tag off and threw a punch. Read more
