Chiamaka’s butt enlargement isn’t why she died

You might have read about this young woman, Chiamaka Okafor reported to have died on the 8th of June, 2023. This followed after being beaten by her husband, Ndubuisi. The couple, said to have been married since 2018 and have two girls have always been in one fracas or another. Chiamaka was ostensibly reported to be carrying another pregnancy, a girl child. Her husband wanted it aborted but she refused. Could this be the reason her husband got angry and pounded her to death!

Reading further on the story, I learned that Chiamaka had undergone a butt enlargement surgery a few weeks prior to the assault at home. She was reported to have suffered complications from the surgery. This may be the reason that hastened her death following the assault from her husband.

Ndubuisi was reported to have taken Chiamaka to the hospital after beating her and she fainted. He left her there and didn’t even go when he was told she had passed on.

Two things stood out for me in this sad story. A woman is dead from domestic violence. We blame her not only for not leaving but also for the cosmetic surgery!

In a country where families are struggling to eat two meals per day, reading about someone indulging in cosmetic surgery rankles. I know but let’s not lose our humanity over this. A woman has died from being assaulted by her husband, its not ok!

Is this ok?

We need to understand there should never be a reason why a man should beat his wife. Some are suggesting the reason he got pissed at her is because she refused to abort the pregnancy when it was discovered they were expecting yet another baby girl. It still doesn’t justify why she should be assaulted to the point of death!

Are we in stone age days where a man doesn’t know that the sex of his offspring is determined by him? Do we need to educate Ndubuisi here with basic biology?

Some commenters were suggesting the reason she died is because she may have developed complications from the butt enlargement surgery and so they blame her for her own death!

Crap!

If this were so, then her death may not have been after the assault. She may have lived longer…or not.

Others think perhaps, it is because of the constant beating she had been receiving from her husband and it got to a point, being pregnant as well, she gave up the ghost. This is the theory that is most acceptable.

Women in domestic violence do not just get bruised and traumatized on the surface, they are ripped apart from the inside. They are battered in body, in mind, and in spirit, no amount of pancake can cover these.

She covered it well

Did you see Chiamaka’s video? She is seen strutting in front of the camera displaying flawless skin, teeth, and a body to die for.

But she is a battered woman, like many in domestic violence. They are bleeding hearts that never heal, they are open wounds that constant assault only tears wider leaving huge gashes no one sees. When they are assaulted by the men they love, two things happen. They lose the will to live and their unseen wounds bleed out and they die.

I will never understand why it is ok for some men to beat their partners or bully them or intimidate them.

It is not ok for a man to get pissed at his wife for birthing girls instead of choice boys?

Why should it ever be ok for a pregnant woman to be so beaten? She fainted from the assault and this is regardless of whether she was just recovering from a butt surgery or not.

It is not ok for us as people to judge a victim

We really need to understand that if a woman decides to get a butt enlargement, it is her prerogative. Now, to the health implications is another story and I still maintain, her prerogative.

If she chooses to enlarge her breasts and whiten her skin and wear false lashes and false nails…it is her prerogative. Those who are blaming her for undergoing a butt enlargement procedure are unkind in my estimation. While I admit some may consider it vain, I honestly believe she has a right to own her own body so long as it doesn’t tamper, interfere or hinder anyone’s progress.

Why should we judge and allocate shame on the victim when the perpetrator is walking free?

Chiamaka is a victim of domestic violence, let’s not forget that.

Chiamaka was beaten until she fainted and might I add, while pregnant that also is a fact.

Who knows, she may still be alive today if Ndubuisis hadn’t thought it best to just be done with a female producing wife. He may even have been angered by the fact that she wasn’t sorry about not having a male child. She seems more concerend with the size of her butt. He must wonder why a woman who can’t give birth to an ordinary male child want a big bum to strut around town, for. May be he thinks big butts should only be the prerogative of women who can bear male children.

Nothing to be proud of

I don’t know what craze drove Ndubuisi to keep beating his wife all these years, I do know that he should be arrested and jailed for murder.

I know women who are in abusive relationships should seek help and not be judged

Never think you know better or will do better were you are the one wearing the shoes.

Never think you have the full picture, the whole story and even when you think you do…look again.

Let’s hope the police have begun their work and have arrested Ndubuisi.

Chiamaka left two little girls behind, let’s hope the little girls are raised in a stable home and loved.

Let’s pray Chiamaka’s soul finds rest.
