What else are we going to call this new improved, cleaned up and rejuvenated Chidinma?
Have you’ve seen the video of Chidinma, looking lovely, innocent and un-killer-like? If you haven’t, just scroll down, the video is down there.
Chidinma is wearing a hoodie, her hair is obviously washed and texturized into a huge bob fanning her face, with parting on the side. She’s your girl next door, not a sex vixen or the sugar baby we’ve come to associate her with in the last few days.
This ‘sexiness’ I’m talking about is one made to appeal to the mother, father, sister, brother uncle and aunty in all of us watching…it oozes, innocence.
It is made up.
It is carefully crafted to project a different persona for Chidinma….we cannot continue to see her with blood stained hands nor view her face like that of a cold hearted killer, no. This is orchestrated to appeal to us, see her as our innocent teenager who lives next door; the one who would never hurt a fly….much less kill a grown man like Usifo Ataga with a knife!
She has been made to look ‘sexy’ for the camera; a girl who was unfortunate enough to find herself in the wrong place at the wrong time…poor kid!
She didn’t deny dating Usifo, that is not a crime we should crucify her for, Usifo should take the rap for that, he’s the older one, the supposedly wiser one… but is that enough to blame her for his death?
She said no.
She didnt kill Usifo!
And our mouths have been left hanging!
Huh!
The new improved Chidinma claims Usifo Ataga was already dead when she came back from going to buy food and hard drugs! When she saw him in a pool of his own blood, she did the first thing that came to her, she picked up her bag and took a few of Usifo’s personal items like his phone and ATM card….for safe keeping abi… then she left!
She didn’t kill him!
I hear someone calling, “Funke! Funke’!”
Wait a moment!
It’s an unbelievable story, right, considering her earlier confession?
But so far, everything about her story has been circumstantial, those who can interpret crime scenes will tell you a good lawyer can still get her a good deal.
I mean, if you consider that someone of Chidinma’s stature couldn’t possibly have single handedly killed someone of Usifo’s build…you kind of want to look for other motives, other suspects…
But let’s go back to this new improved Chidinma.
You want to ask, who was that subdued girl; that sad girl two weeks back confessing like a witch to how she killed Usifo? Who was that girl who told us she tied Usifo up when he was high and stabbed him afterwards when he demanded sex and she didn’t want more because the last one was bad?
Huh?
Who was that Canary twitting from both sides of her mouth on camera saying, “I am sorry I killed him…I don’t want to die….I apologise to his wife and family for his death…”
May be that was Chidinma’s alter ego? Her twin? Her doppelganger?
So if Chidinma says she didn’t kill Usifo Ataga; who did?
Why did she come back to the room, met his dead body in a pool of blood and she could even think of stealing his ATM card, withdrew cash…be it 5million or it just 500naira only, her hands are stained with blood!
Too early to begin to pass judgement!
Let’s go by her new statement but are we expected to believe her?
She said the reason for the initial confession to killing him was because she had stolen Ataga’s ATM card and had gone to withdraw money.
Which is a greater crime, people?
Stealing or killing?
Why not keep saying, “Na steal I steal, I no kill Ataga!”
There’s something fishy here; I smell a lawyer(s) trying to make a name(s) for themselves.
This new and improved Chidinma is a product of those pulling her strings from behind the curtain! This Chidinma is a make believe character in a new reality show we have just been introduced to but not aware we are participants.
This Chidinma will find it easy to tug at our heart strings because some people think Ataga deserved the death he got!
It’s like spitting on his grave!
And now the police who said Chidinma is a hardened criminal are changing mouth and saying they have other suspects. Hmmm.
We will soon know what’s up.
Things are unravelling and pretty fast too, the police have announced they have arrested more suspects…meaning there’s more to what Chidinma is actually saying or not saying.
Me thinks the people behind her are looking to get a shorter jail term or a more lenient judgement. I pitied her myself when she confessed to the killing and granted press interviews to several media outlets. I was moved by the stories I read about her. I felt she was misguided and that murder may not have been premeditated until someone reminded me, again.
“…but she took his ATM and withdrew money, even after she knew he was dead!”
Well…let’s put it down to foolishness of youth.
However, no matter how much we feel sorry for Chidinma or Ataga, for that matter, the fact remains that a life was taken in a most brutal manner. The police have done their job apprehending a suspect; they say more are being arrested. Let’s hope our justice system will do its part and justice will be served to aggrieved families…but…
Maybe, just maybe, we would soon be seeing or never even see those supporting Chidinma. Maybe some high and mighty chieftains are throwing their weights to rescue this girl from herself and blood thirsty Nigerians.
This case hasn’t been charged to court yet and even if it’s done today, it could drag on for years until the public lose interest and Chidinma walks free…in naija, anything can happen.
What can also happen is that we have been inadvertently drawn into a reality show we may never get enough of. Just when we thought we were done with news on her, we get a twist to the tale!
Anyway, Nigerians, prepare for the greatest reality show of your lives!
