The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has felicitated Christians and cautioned motorists against speeding, reckless driving to reduce road crashes during the Christmas Celebration.
Mr Ahmed Umar, FRSC Sector Commander, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Ota, Ogun.
Umar reiterated the commitment of the corps to ensure that motorists get to their various destinations during, before and after the Christmas season.
“We are appealing to motorists to embrace safety culture, exercise patience and refrain from overspeeding to minimise accidents during the festivity.
“In addition, we implored drivers to desist from drunk driving, wrongful overtaking and reckless driving to reduce mishaps,” he said.
The sector commander also enjoined motorists against overloading. They should cooperate with FRSC personnel and other sister agencies to ensure sanity on the highway.
He said that the FRSC had massively deployed its personnel across the state to check excesses of drivers and response promptly to accident cases, including towing away vehicles which break down. (NAN)
