A mother, Abiodun Deborah, has cried out to the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to probe the mysterious disappearance of the small intestine of her 12-year-old son, Adebola Akin-Bright while receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.
Abiodun’s life was thrown into jeopardy when surgeons at LASUTH informed her about the disappearance of her son’s intestine after a corrective surgery performed on the boy on July 14, 2023.
Abiodun said his boy was referred to LASUTH from a private hospital, Obitoks Medical Centre situated at Ile Epo in the Alimosho Local Government area of the state on June 17 following a complication from surgery to correct intestinal obstruction. Read more

According to The Guardian’s findings, there are certain Apps criminals use to perpetrate the crime. These include Flash Fund App, Lofty SMS App, Money Prank Pro, Millionaire Fake Bank Account as well as Pro and fake alert maker for Android. Read more
LASTMA warns film, skit makers against unauthorised use of its uniforms (Punch)
The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, has warned film and skit makers against unauthorised use of its uniforms in movies and comedy skits.
In a statement released on Friday by the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, Oreagba “declared the use of LASTMA uniforms, Kits, and other accouterments by film and skit makers illegal.”
According to the statement, Oreagba “frowned at the demeaning manner in which movie and skit makers portray LASTMA institution in their movies and skits.” Read more
Lagos: One of the policeman attacked by okada riders is dead (NewTelegraph)
One of the injured Policemen attacked by motorcycle riders on Thursday night at Ijora Olopa died in the early hours of Friday, August 11.
In a video that went viral on Friday, the policeman was seen lying on the ground with blood gushing out of his head. while the Divisional Police Officer of Iponri police station was heard in the video rushing to the scene to rescue the injured policeman to the hospital for medical attention.
The policeman in the video was seen bleeding from his head and nose and was said to have died in the hospital where he was rushed to after the attack by the Okada riders. Read more
CBN’s seven-year financial statement shows N65.6b profit in 2022 (Nation)
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released its audited financial statements for 2016-2022 as investigation on its operations continues.
The financial sector regulator recorded a profit of N65.63 billion in 2022 — more than double the figure it reported a in the previous year (N31.04 billion).
The apex bank said the financial statements of the last seven years had been approved by its board in accordance with the provisions of the CBN Act of 2007. Read more

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a telephone call on Friday with Bazoum’s predecessor, former President Mahamadou Issoufou, to talk about the “deteriorating conditions” the embattled leader faces.
