A couple, Mr Ambrose and Mrs Mercy Akinmoluwayan, were in a joyous mood while dedicating their set of twins after 16 years of delayed childbearing.

The couple spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during this yearโ€™s edition of โ€œSpecial Service and Prayers for Nigeria and Her Political Leadersโ€ organised by Charismatic Renewal Ministries in Abuja.

NAN reports that the twins; Joseph and Joshua, were dedicated to God during the service by the wife of the General Overseer, Dr Adeola Ilechukwu.

Shortly after the dedication, Akinmoluwayan told NAN that he got married to his wife, Mercy, on December 3, 2005, in Ondo State.

The husband, who said he would be 52 years old on January 23, said it took them 16 years before having their children.

โ€œThis year August 12, my wife clocked 50. We gave birth to the babies on September 27, 2021, at Federal Medical Centre, Abuja,โ€ he said.

He said though there were challenges along the way, โ€œbecause we are Christians and we have decided by Godโ€™s grace that we have to make this marriage work, we did not allow pressure from here and there to weigh us down.โ€

โ€œWe were expecting God to give us children but even if it didnโ€™t come, we were determined that we wonโ€™t break our home.

โ€œAnd God, so faithful, decided to honour us and gave us these twins,โ€ he said.

Akinmoluwayan advised couples who are facing a similar challenge not to give up.

Also speaking, Mrs Akinmoluwayan said he felt good and happy to dedicate her babies โ€œbecause the Lord has added to our number.โ€

โ€œDuring the course of getting pregnant and you have miscarriages, discouragement comes.

โ€œBut in the midst of three miscarriages, God gave us the two wonderful boys,โ€ she said. (NAN)
