Couple travel the world by selling tea and saving £3.30 every day (Metro)

One of the biggest excuses people make for not travelling is a lack of funds. Let this couple serve as your inspiration. Vihjan and Mohana, both almost 70 years old, have travelled the world despite only being able to save approximately £3.30 towards their trips every day.

The couple run a small tea shop in Kochi, a port city in India, and dedicate their lives to visiting as many countries as possible. So far, they have travelled to 23 places, including Singapore, Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina and New York City in the US, among others.

How do they travel on such a small budget? In a video on Twitter, shared by chairman of the Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, the pair tell their story, which has since gone viral. Around 56 years ago, Vihjan started his tea-selling business, and now the pair have over 300 to 350 customers visit their shop, Sree Balaji Coffee House, on a daily basis. Read more
