A Badagry Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Tuesday remanded a 37-year-old man, Waheed Bello, in Awahjigoh Correctional Centre, Badagry, for allegedly stealing aluminum window valued at N500,000.
The Magistrate, Mr L A Layeni, ordered the remand of Bello in the correctional centre after he pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing.
Layeni later adjourned the case until May 15 for review of facts and sentencing.
The defendant was in court on a two-count charge of felony and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp Edet Ekpo, had informed the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 14, at about 3.00.p.m, at Golden Estate, Aradagun area of Badagry.
Ekpo said the defendant unlawfully entered the house of one, Mr Tijani Rafiu, the complainant with intent to commit felony.
According to the prosecutor, the defendant stole four aluminum windows valued at N500,000 from the complainant house.
He added that the defendant also made the transfer without the consent of the complainant and converted the said amount to his personal use.
According to him, the offence contravenes Sections 308 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
