The Jigawa state commissioner of police, Mr Bala Zama Senchi is yet to implement the order by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu to withdraw all police escort to individuals.
Reports from the state indicated that armed policemen are been seen attached to individuals such as elected and political appointees and also guarding in their official and personal residents in the state.
Finding by our reporter in the state revealed that all the policemen attached to members of the state executive council and chairmen of the 27 local government council of the state remain with their bosses.
When contacted the Jigawa police command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abdu Jijiri via mobile phone call said “the command is yet to withdraw the policemen until Thursday as the IGP order says police should be withdrawn during elections so as to have enough personals”. Read more
