MTN Nigeria hosted content creators on the 5th and 6th of November 2018 to a digital conference and awards ceremony. During the two-day event, which held in Lagos, upstart and aspiring content creators had the opportunity to interact with some of the best Nigerian content creators, including filmmakers Kunle Afolayan and Tope Alake. Also present at the conference was the ace animator Erem Emeka aka House of Ajebo.
The first day of the conference saw different content creators engage in master class sessions in areas as diverse as filmmaking, animation and podcast content creation. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of MTN Shortz as a home for content creators to showcase their creative works.
Speaking at the award ceremony, General Manager, Value Added Services (VAS), Aisha Umar Mumuni, explained that MTN Shortz was launched in July 2017 to allow content creators upload their short form video content of not more than five to fifteen minutes long.
Other awards include the Best Engager and the Most Responsive Content Provider which were both won by the Aerial View agency, which carted home N3.5 million. Customers were also rewarded as the Most Watched Subscriber and the Most Engaged Customer on Social Media were presented with the cash sums of N150,000 and N100,000 respectively
The event had celebrities like pop stars, HarrySong, Johnny Drille, Immaculate, Sound Sultan and others in attendance, some of whom performed to the delight of the crowd.
The MTN Shortz platform is open to all who have a burning passion for creating quality content and seeks to monetise them.
