A scuba diver shot himself in the head with a spear gun and remarkably managed to avoid any serious injuries.
The missile missed Connie Hallowell’s brain and eyes before the he rushed back to the beach for help.
He is now recovering in hospital and still has full vision, despite the projectile penetrating right behind his eyeballs.
The diver from Umkomaas, South Africa, was picking up fishing sinkers about 20 metres offshore on August 31 when the freak accident occurred. Read more
