Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State, has appointed Professor (Mrs.) Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole as its first female Vice-Chancellor, marking a historic milestone for the institution.

A distinguished scholar, philosopher, and administrator, Professor Oduwole brings over three decades of academic and leadership experience to the role. She is a Professor of African Philosophy and Ethics at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, and holds multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Ibadan and an M.Sc. in Bioethics from the Erasmus Mundus programme in Europe.

Her academic leadership roles at Olabisi Onabanjo University include Head of the Philosophy Department, Director of General and Entrepreneurial Studies, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration). She has contributed extensively to research in African Philosophy, Bioethics, and Gender Studies, and has collaborated on international projects such as the INDIGENE genomics ethics study.

Professor Oduwole is also active in faith-based service within the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), teaching Bible study and serving on the Theological Accreditation and Regulatory Board.

Her professional accolades include the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, several Global Forum on Bioethics Research Awards, and the British Council grant on higher education funding models. She is affiliated with organisations such as the Philosophers Association of Nigeria, Bioethics Society of Nigeria, and the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.

Professor Oduwoleโ€™s appointment signals a new era of academic excellence, ethical leadership, and spiritual integrity at Ajayi Crowther University.
