The Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Power Plc, Mokhtar Bounour, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable development in Nigeria’s electricity sector at the Shell Power Conference 2025.

Held in Ikeja, Lagos, under the theme “Powering Nigeria’s Energy Future: Bridging the Gap Between Ambition and Action,” the conference convened industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore actionable strategies for improving power infrastructure.

Bounour described the discussions as bold, honest, and forward-thinking, emphasizing the need for collaboration across the entire electricity value chain.

“While compliance with health and safety standards is paramount, our shared commitment to reliable electricity for industries, hospitals, institutions, schools, and homes is essential to Nigeria’s socio-economic development,” he said.

He stressed that efficiency, strategic partnerships, and innovative technologies are key to transforming power generation and distribution. “Collaboration can unlock transformative investments, improve liquidity, and accelerate the adoption of solutions that drive operational excellence,” Bounour added.

Highlighting Egbin’s ongoing investments in innovation and upgrades, Bounour called for stronger regulatory support and stakeholder alignment to meet growing energy demand. “The future of Nigeria’s energy sector is not a dream. It is a mission. Let’s power it together,” he concluded.

The Shell Power Conference featured panel discussions, presentations, and networking aimed at aligning industry ambition with practical action toward a resilient and inclusive energy future.
