The Commissioner of Police (CP), Delta Command, Mr Abaniwonda Olufemi, has deployed massive personnel to ensure adequate security during the Eid-El-fitr celebration in the state.

Olufemi disclosed this in a statement issued through the commandโ€™s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, in Warri on Tuesday.

The commissioner assured that the command would keep to its mandate of combating crime as well as enhancing public safety throughout the festive period and beyond.

He, therefore, directed all the Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers in the command to set up security architecture for proactive and effective policing throughout the Eid-el-fitr celebration.

The CP, who rejoiced with the Muslim Faithful, noted that the Eid-el-fitr was an epitome of collective happiness.

โ€œThe month of Ramadan brings us blessings. We should learn to shun our differences, promote harmony and show love and affection for each other according to Allahโ€™s teachings.

โ€œThe officers of the command will be deployed to all Muslim worship centres and other nooks and crannies of the state to ensure adequate security of lives and properties,โ€ he said.

The commissioner urged the public to continue to assist the police and other security agencies with useful information to enable them to serve the state better.

He also admonished them to be security conscious, law abiding and take appropriate measures towards protecting their lives and properties in the private and public places.

The CP, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, wished all Muslim faithful a happy and peaceful Eid-El-fitr celebration. (NAN)
