The entire Alausa, seat of the Lagos State government in Ikeja, Lagos, was calm throughout the voting period.
At the various polling stations visited by INDEPENDENT’s Election Monitoring Team, voting went on smoothly, the voters remained on queue, waiting for their turn.
Those who had voted earlier, sat on seats provided at the voting area, waiting for the end of voting for the votes to be counted.
However, at the Alausa Police Station Junction, where there were two polling units, only one of the card readers was working.
Desperate polling officials made frantic efforts to contact the technician in the area, who however, said he could not come down to the polling station immediately. Read more
