Elon Musk has offended a lot of people recently. Now he’s risked provoking even more anger after sharing a Hitler meme mocking ‘short sellers’ who want to see Tesla fail because they stand to profit. Short selling involves borrowing shares in a company and selling them in the hope of buying them back later at a lower price. In the tweet below, Musk shared a clip from the film Downfall which shows Hitler reacting furiously to bad news during the final days before his suicide in an underground bunker. The German video has been remixed over and over again since about 2006, with English subtitles showing the Fuhrer raging about whatever message the editor of the video wants to convey. In the clip Musk shared, Hitler is shown ranting about Tesla’s success in building 5,000 cars a week and saying: ‘If Tesla doesn’t go bankrupt soon, I’ll lose everything!’ The vicious dictator is then shown slamming Tesla cars and saying: ‘These cars burst into flames every time you turn them on.
