A retired police officer could now go to prison after attacking his neighbour with an axe in a row over fireworks.
Michael Smallwood, 60, attacked Nigel Storer, 49, when he held a fireworks party with his family in his garden.
During the attack on November 4 last year, Mr Storer suffered a swollen head and a cut to his shoulder.
Smallwood, of Atherstone, Warwickshire, was found guilty of possessing an offensive weapon and assault causing actual bodily harm after a trial at Warwick Crown Court. Read more
