The presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Mrs Obiageli Ezekwesili, on Monday threatened to mobilise Nigerians to protest President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to decline assent to the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2018.
Ezekwesili said this during a press conference held at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
She said most Nigerians wanted the smart card readers to be used for accreditation of voters during the 2019 general elections as proposed in the bill which Buhari refused to sign.
She called on the international community to support the nation’s democracy by joining Nigerians to ask Buhari to sign the bill. Read more
