Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby says his team must live up to expectations when they battle South Korea on Wednesday in Grenoble at the ongoing 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
The Falcons must beat the Asians to stand any chance of advancing from Group A, after they were thrashed 3-0 by Norway in their opening game on Saturday.
Goals from Guro Reiten, Lisa-Marie Utland and an own goal from Ohale Osinachi condemned Dennerby’s side to defeat.
The defeat extended the Falcons winless run at the Women’s World Cup to six games. The last time they won a game at the tournament was against Canada in 2011. The game ended 1-0. Read more
