The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid el-Kabir celebration.
This was announced in a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior and signed by Magdalene Ajani, its permanent secretary on Monday, June 2.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of Interior, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulating Muslims across the country and in the diaspora on the occasion.
Tunji-Ojo called on the Muslim faithful to “continue to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him)” and to use the period to pray for “a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.” (Businessday
