The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRMI) on Monday distributed food and non-food items worth N12 million to over 500 refugees and persons of concern in Lagos State.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the items, which were distributed in large quantities, included pots, plates, spoons, mattresses, buckets, stoves, blankets, nets, wrappers, slippers, rice, beans, garri, among others.
The NCRM’s Federal Commissioner, Hajia Sadiya Foruoq, said the items were to provide a soft landing for the beneficiaries after their rehabilitation and empowerment training.
