But for the swift action of the men of the fire service at about 9am today, Saturday, April 21 at the Conoil fuel station by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), the station would have been in flames.
By the time thisislagos got there at 9.15am, the fire had been put under control with a crowd of onlookers taking note of every action. One of the witnesses who would not supply his name and only agreed to speak off camera, said no one is sure what caused the fire.
“The fire suddenly started behind the filling station and before you know it, the fire service was here with two trucks and pumping water on the flames, which were as high as the overhead bridge nearby,” he said.
As can be seen in the video, the smoke left from the fire was equally as our source stated.
