FirstBank breaks ground on new state-of-the-art eco-friendly headquaters

FirstBank, West Africa’s premier financial institution, Today held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 40-story, green-certified headquarters in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos. The state-of-the-art building, set to become Nigeria’s tallest, promises to redefine sustainable architecture and set new benchmarks for the African financial sector.  

According to a statement by Olayinka Ijabiyi, Ag. Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, designed with cutting-edge eco-friendly technology, the iconic structure underscores FirstBank’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. The project aims to reduce operational costs while positioning the bank as a pioneer in sustainable banking practices.  

“This milestone reflects our dedication to excellence and sustainability,” said Olusegun Alebiosu, CEO of FirstBank Group. “Our new headquarters will not only serve as a world-class facility but also drive economic growth across Africa, creating lasting value for stakeholders.”  

The ceremony, attended by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, government officials, and industry leaders, marks a transformative chapter in FirstBank’s 130-year legacy. The bank continues to expand its global footprint, operating in nine countries across three continents.
