Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Emergency officials in Lagos Tuesday morning intensified search for a missing 17-year-old girl, simply identified as Ayisat, who was reportedly washed away after Monday’s downpour.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, was alerted of the incident after torrential rains. ‘How flood swept away my husband’ ‘Relocate from flood-prone areas’ The teenager was declared missing at Surulere.

LASEMA said its officials have commenced search of all major and minor categories of drains and drainage canals in and around Alapafuja axis of the Surulere Low-Cost Housing Estate in Surulere Local Government Area, Lagos. Read more

A truckload of northerners has been arrested by the police at the Kara end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The PUNCH gathered that the men were being transported to Lagos with cows in the same container.

The Divisional Police Officer of Kara said she was not aware of the arrest.

Four persons in Police net over fake bank alerts (Nation)

The Police on Monday said they have arrested four suspects over alleged generation of fake bank alerts and sending same as evidence of online payment for transactions to defraud their victims.

The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr Frank Mba, disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja.

He said the suspects were specialists in generating fake alerts for sundry purposes, including payment for commercial sex. Read more

Man in court for allegedly having sex with a pig (Guardian)

A 22- year-old man, Ayokunbi Olaniyi, on Tuesday appeared in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly having sex with a pig.

The police charged Olaniyi, who resides in Eleti – Odo area, Iwo Road, Ibadan , with one count of unnatural offence.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Opeyemi Olagunju, told the court that on April 2, at about 4 p.m. at Elewi – Odo , Ibadan , the defendant allegedly had sex with a pig against order of nature. Read more

Wife damages husband’s genitals over alleged infidelity (Punch)

Osun State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Tuesday said it has commenced an investigation into the allegation against a housewife, who reportedly damaged the genitals of her husband.

Osun command’s NSCDC spokesperson, Daniel Adigun, in a statement, said one Omolara Seriki, resident of Ikirun, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun, had reported her husband, Raheem Seriki, to the command, accusing him of shirking his responsibilities as husband and father.

Adigun further explained that when Raheem was eventually invited for interrogation, it was discovered that he had been a victim of physical assault from his wife, which led to him sustaining a bodily injury. Read more

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Magistrate Court has re-opened the Jabi Lake Mall, 10 days after it ordered that it be sealed for hosting a Naira Marley concert in contravention of Covid-19 Protocols.

The court, sitting in Jabi, also ordered the management of the Mall to publish an unreserved apology to government in a national daily.

Magistrate Idayat Akanni had shut down the Mall after convicting some persons for organizing the ‘Drive-in-Concert’ in breach of social distancing measures and the 10pm to 4am curfew. Read more

Scientists suggest that “midday sunlight in most US and world cities during summer” is extremely effective in inactivating the virus that causes COVID-19 when it’s been coughed or sneezed onto a surface, according to the study published earlier this month.

Trump orders the arrest of anyone vandalising monuments (RT)
