4 arrested over ₦500m work visa scam in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four individuals linked to a massive visa scam amounting to ₦500 million, targeting over 100 unsuspecting Nigerians with false promises of overseas employment.

The suspects — Blessing Wefsutu (27), Chineye Christian (36), Archibong Udeme Ifereke (23), and Maurine Peter (25) — were all identified as staff of an education consultancy firm based in the Ago, Okota area of Lagos.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) following a transfer of the case from the Ago Okota Division, where the initial complaints were lodged.
