Frank Lampard liked what he saw from Christian Pulisic on his full debut for Chelsea in Wednesday’s Super Cup defeat to Liverpool and believes he is only going to get better.
The American came to life midway through the first half, weaving between red shirts to play the perfect assist for Oliver Giroud’s opener while he had a goal of his own chalked off for offside minutes later.
He was withdrawn in the 74th minute, replaced by Mason Mount, having played half-an-hour in Sunday’s Premier League defeat to Manchester United off the bench.
Although Chelsea went on to lose the Super Cup on penalties, Lampard took plenty of positives from the game, one of which was Pulisic – though is keen not to get too carried away just yet. Read more
