Frank Lampard was relieved to get a home tie against wounded Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team narrowly squirmed through to face Chelsea in the fourth round.
While Lampard’s men thumped League 2 Grimsby Town 7-1 courtesy of goals from Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi, Pedro, Kurt Zouma, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi, United stuttered against local rivals Rochdale.
