Friday, November 2 at the ongoing fourth edition of the Lagos International Poetry Festival (LIPFest 2018) will feature a number of activities including the much anticipated concert, which will take place at the Muson Centre, Lagos at 8pm.
Kicking off the festival sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc today, the Call and Response session will hold at Freedom Park from 12pm to 1:30pm. It will be moderated by Isabella Akinseye, and will include poets such as; Logan February, Daisy Odey, Graciano Enwerem, Zoe Hagen and Sadiq Dzukogi.
At 1:35pm-3:35pm, Tanure Ojaide, Niyi Osundare and Harry Garuba will be present at the Poets at Large session to address the issue of A Genertion In Exile. This event will be moderated by Obari Gomba.
By 5pm, guests will be engaged in various performances in Finding Home with Yomi Sode, Jabir Malick, Chief Moomen, Ndukwe Onuoha, Chika Jones, Adesola Fakile, Obii Ifejika and Efe Paul Azino (Director of LIPFest).

According to most of the poets who performed on Wednesday, the Wide Awake concert is where to be on Friday night! And I will take their word for it, from what I’ve seen of their performances so far!
Poets from different parts of the world will perform tonight, including; Danez Smith (USA), Lebo Mashile (SA), Yomi Sode (UK), Wana Udobang (NG), Jabir Malick (Senegal) Chief Moomen (Ghana), Efe Paul Azino (NG), Nick Makoha (UK), Dike Chukwumerijie (NG), Nkateko Masinga (SA), Zoe Hagen (Ger), Chika Jones(NG), Graciano (NG), Daisy Odeh (NG). Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga, will also make a guest appearance at tonight’s concert. The Wide Awake Concert will be hosted by Nigerian media personality, Folu Storms.
