Gerard Pique believes Barcelona would have won treble if not for collapse against Liverpool (Metro)

Gerard Pique believes Barcelona would have gone on to win the Champions League and Copa del Rey had they not been beaten by Liverpool.

The dramatic comeback at Anfield secured Liverpool’s place in the Champions League final and Valencia added to Barcelona’s woes on Saturday with their own victory over the Catalan giants.

Valencia stunned Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final with a 2-1 win and Pique believes his side’s hopes of a treble winning campaign derailed at Anfield.

He said: ‘If we’d gone through at Anfield, I am convinced that we would have won the treble, we would have come here against sensations and we would have won the Champions League final. Read more
