Gisele Bündchen addressed her “concerns” over Tom Brady’s ongoing NFL career amid the pair’s marital spat.
“This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” the supermodel, 42, told Elle magazine in her cover story, published on Tuesday.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel, who shares son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, with the 45-year-old athlete, noted that she has “definitely had those conversations with him over and over again.”
She added, “Ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
As for Bündchen, she patted herself on the back for doing a “good job” raising Benjamin, Vivian and Brady’s 15-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.
“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [my husband],” the businesswoman told the outlet. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams.
“Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career — it makes me happy,” Bündchen continued.
While the interview was conducted before Page Six broke the news of the couple’s “epic fight,” Elle reached out to Bündchen this month and she declined to comment.
Notably, she didn’t speak on Brady elsewhere in the story, only gushing about his “amazing” interest in fashion.
Bündchen has been open about putting her own career on the back burner as Brady played for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Although the seven-time Super Bowl champion announced his retirement in February, he walked back his decision six weeks later.
Brady told his podcast listeners earlier this month that he struggles to balance football with parenthood.
“You can’t stop your life even though sports is happening,” the quarterback explained on Sept. 5 “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray” episode.
Bündchen, who clarified to British Vogue in May that raising kids with Brady is not a “fairy tale,” has been butting heads with her husband over his decision to un-retire, Page Six reported earlier this month.“
They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind,” a source told us of their marital “trouble” at the time. (PageSix)
