In Delta state, one Emmanuel resurrected after 27 years with claims of being the bastard child of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state.
That’s why I labeled him John Snow. Now, to those of us who skipped watching that addictive TV series Game of Thrones, Snow is the last name given to bastards. In the series, John Snow is the most popular of them.
But anyway, we’re talking about Sanwo-Olu’s bastard; a young man who calls himself Emmanuel Sanwo-Olu. But before I go too far, let me correct my errors. In Africa and in Nigeria, especially, no child is a bastard.
So Emmanuel Sanwo-Olu is not a bastard, whether or not Sanwo-Olu is his father.
Emmanuel claims and we are not to disparage his claims. He claims that Governor Sanwo-Olu had years back, between 1994-1995 worked in a private company in Warri area, Delta state. The Governor, who of course wasn’t a governor then, was young and is alleged to have had “an amorous relationship” with a girl named Grace Moses, from Oleri village, near Warri. That relationship is said to have produced Emmanuel…
Today Emmanuel Sanwo-Olu is a 27 year old unemployed father of three!
Of course, Grace, his mum, would be around say her early 50s, maybe even late 40s. Let’s assume Grace told her son the truth; “that man who is Governor of Lagos state is your father.”
Anyone would brighten up at that. Isn’t that the same way one Simon Dorante-Day, a 56 year old Australian claims he is King Charles and Camila’s love child. This world, people can just wake up and be Dangote’s child!
Anyway, let’s give Emmanuel and his mum the benefit of the doubt. I mean things happen, Sanwo-Olu was young and reckless, right? We’ve heard seedy stories of the boss’s sons impregnating the maid. I just read Cheluchi’s Onyemelukwe-Onuobia’s The Son of the House, a story of how an educated young boy began sleeping with the maid and she got pregnant…
Things happen, especially when you are young and reckless.
That’s the assumption…suddenly Sanwo-Olu, public figure, governor…now has a alleged child wanting to make claims to some of his…let’s say connections, let’s not assume too quickly Emmanuel wants money. So how did this happen?
I’m assuming here that Grace Moses either didn’t know she was pregnant and Sanwo-Olu simply moved on with his life…or she told him she was pregnant and he bailed! It has happened before…then he became governor and Emmanuel is arising at Sanwo-Olu’s second coming.
But these are mere assumptions of a very imaginative mind.
But you’ll have to agree with me, that Sanwo-Olu is a unique name.
Now, did Sanwo-Olu at any time, by any chance, work or travel around the Warri area in the years Emmanuel quoted?
Aha!
If it’s on record that Sanwo-Olu at one time or another, maybe not even 1994-1995, say ‘91-‘98, huh? He travelled to, went on assignment as a young intern or graduate or student or…yeah, yeah…
Could be, right?
Well, like I said before, mere conjectures of an imaginative mind…crazy as it sounds, huh?
Well. I know for sure Emmanuel will never get an audience with the governor or his cohorts. It is “laughable,” like they have been quoted to say. They won’t even dignify these claims with a response not to talk of agreeing to a DNA because then, several Emmanuel will arise and lay claims to the kingdom in Lagos.
So. The Government of Lagos state and its administration will ignore Emmanuel and hope he will wear himself out and keep quiet.
The other thing they could do to make this Emmanuel matter remain buried and not resurrect with any further claims is to ensure he is paid well, put him in an institution and claim mental health issues while paying off his family for their silence.
Far-fetched?
I think Emmanuel is sick! He might need help.
