Paul Pogba unintentionally sparked outrage on Tuesday morning when a social media cock-up saw him post a bizarrely cryptic Instagram post in the immediate aftermath of Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
The feud between the pair has been long running and it was, in many ways, fitting that Pogba was once again the centre of attention even after the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager was relieved of his duties.
Pogba’s sponsored scheduled post of himself smiling with the words ‘caption this’ did not go down well among the club’s fans with Manchester United legend Gary Neville telling him to ‘do one as well’ and follow Mourinho out of the Old Trafford exit door.
Graeme Souness accepted that it may well have been a mistake, but branded the World Cup winner as a ‘major disappointment’ and advised the £89million man to have a ‘close look at himself’ after Mourinho’s dismissal. Read more
