Cardi B has won Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards for her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy. She beat out Mac Miller (Swimming), Nipsey Hussle (Victory Lap), Pusha-T (DAYTONA), and Travis Scott (ASTROWORLD).

In a video from backstage posted to Instagram, Cardi said, โ€œI read an article that Mac Millerโ€™s family said that if he donโ€™t win, they wanted me to win, so Iโ€™m sharing this Grammy with you, motherfucker! Rest in peace!.โ€ (After Cardi’s win, Ariana Grande, Tweeted that it was โ€œbullshitโ€ and โ€œtrash.โ€ She later apologized and clarified that it had โ€œnothing to doโ€ with Cardi.)

Cardi is the first female solo artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. In total, Cardi B received five nominations this year, including ones for Album of the year, Song of the Year (โ€œI Like Itโ€), Best Rap Performance (โ€œBe Carefulโ€), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the Maroon 5 collab โ€œGirls Like You.โ€ Read more
