Gunmen release father, son after N3m ransom in Edo

A man, Godwin Osakwe, and his 17-year-old son, who were kidnapped on Tuesday have been released.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the victims were released on Thursday after their family paid N3m ransom.

Osakwe and his son were abducted at the Ahor village end of the Benin bypass.

A source familiar with the incident said both father and son were released after the ransom was paid.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of three people at the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, in the Esan North East Local Government Area of the state.The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kontongs, said the police were on the trail of those behind the abduction.
