Manchester United defender Harry Maguire condemned the ‘disgusting’ racial abuse aimed towards Paul Pogba after the midfielder’s missed penalty in a 1-1 draw with Wolves.
The 26-year-old was the subject of a series of racist abuse from supporters after his spot kick was saved by Rui Patricio in United’s draw at Molineux on Monday night.
Pogba is the second high profile player in the last week to be racially abused online after Tammy Abraham was subjected to similar abuse following Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool in the Super Cup.
And Maguire has called on social media companies such as Twitter and Instagram to do more to combat racism. Read more
