The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has reverted to the status quo on the minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions from 18 to 16 years.
This follows the protest from stakeholders at the on-going Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) policy meeting.
Stakeholders argued that 18 years as the minimum age was too high, and the decision came at the wrong time, given that candidates below 18 have already written the exams. Read more

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of five choice properties linked to a former Managing Director of Nigerian Army Properties Limited (NAPL) Major-General Umaru Mohammed to the Federal Government.
Justice Chukujekwu Aneke gave the final forfeiture order on Wednesday following a motion by the lawyer to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), A.O. Mohammed.
EFCC had told the court that investigations revealed that the properties were fraudulently misappropriated and the proceeds of the sale diverted for personal use. Read more

The Executive Secretary of the Benue State Primary Health Care Board, BSPHCB, Mrs. Grace Wende made this known in Makurdi at a one day review meeting of health stakeholders and development partners at the Local Government level.

Israel’s policy toward the occupied West Bank is dooming any prospect of a two-state solution with the Palestinians, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said.
Through administrative and legal steps, Israel is changing the geography of the West Bank, Guterres said in a statement read by his chief of staff, Courtenay Rattray, during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Wednesday.

The Golden Guernsey Goat will now add ‘royal’ to its breed name after King Charles bestowed the animal with a title in a ceremony on the Channel Island.

Cameras showed Beverley throwing a ball into the stands, where it hit a fan in the head. After he asked for the ball back, and had it thrown back to him, he then fired it back at that fan. Read more

Ferrari’s chances of signing Formula 1 design genius Adrian Newey have reportedly ‘receded significantly’, in a major blow for Sir Lewis Hamilton.
It was announced back in May that Newey would be leaving Red Bull after 18 highly successful years as their chief technical officer.
The 65-year-old is widely considered the greatest car designer in F1 history, helping Williams, McLaren and Red Bull to win 13 drivers’ titles and 12 constructors’ titles. Read more
