A manhunt has been launched after a woman was pushed down the stairs and punched in the face at an east London Overground station.
Police released images of a man after a woman was pushed down the stairs before she was punched in the face.
The attack happened at Leytonstone High Road Overground station on June 2 at about 8.30pm.
The victim was walking down a stairwell and pushing her bike when the unknown man approached and pushed her down.
When she got outside the station, the same man punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.
Now detectives have released pictures of him to identify and speak to him.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: ‘Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could help their investigation.’
The CCTV images show a man looking into the camera wearing a grey beanie hat, with a dark jacket carrying a large brown bag over his shoulder.
People who have pushed commuters on the London Underground and Overground networks have received hefty sentences.
Paul Crossley, who shoved Sir Robert Malpas onto the rails at Marble Arch in 2018, was jailed for live. He will spend at least 12 years behind bars.
Arthur Hawrylewicz, meanwhile, was sentenced to a decade in jail after drunkenly pushing a woman in front of an oncoming train as she travelled to Notting Hill Carnival.
People being intentionally pushed onto the Tube tracks is rare. According to official figures, nine people were shoved onto London Underground line tracks between December 2016 and November 2019.
One person was pushed in this same period on the Overground. (Metro)
