The last is yet to be heard of the serial killing of young women in hotels in Rivers state, following the latest confession allegedly made by the prime suspect, Gracious David-West confessed to killing a total of 15 women across seven states of the federation. Spokesman of the state Police command, Nnamdi Omoni, Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP), who confirmed this to the Nation via a telephone interview Wednesday said the cultist of the Dey-gbam fraternity said he killed one person each in Abia, Edo, Ibadan in Oyo, Owerri in Imo, Ikeja in Lagos state where the act started few months ago and nine in Rivers state. A woman was left devastated after discovering an explicit video of herself on her mobile which she did not remember, a court has heard. Father-of-three Thomas Nicholls, 25, is accused of raping the woman, who said she could not remember having sex with him because she was so drunk. IMF names Kristalina Georgieva as new head (BBC)
Bulgarian economist Kristalina Georgieva has been selected as the new managing director of the International Monetary Fund. Ms Georgieva, who was previously chief executive of the World Bank, becomes the first person from an emerging economy to lead the IMF. Detectives have launched a manhunt after a police officer was injured in a hit and run, before the driver fled the scene. Emergency services were called to Burnaby Road, Coventry, around 2.45pm today, to reports of a man being hit by a car. Amazon has announced that its virtual assistant Alexa will soon be able to mimic the voice of the actor Samuel L Jackson among other celebrities. The firm intends to charge a fee for the feature, with each voice costing $0.99 (80p). ‘Golden Boy’ Rivera earns top coaching qualifications at 76 (Guardian)
Gianni Rivera could potentially take charge of the next Serie A team to dump their manager after the former Italy attacker and AC Milan hero earned Europe’s most important coaching licence at the tender age of 76. Rivera, a Ballon d’Or winner in 1969 and former Member of the European Parliament, was one of the “famous faces”, alongside 2006 World Cup winner Mauro Camoranesi, announced by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) to have gained the Italian equivalent of the UEFA Pro Licence, which enables him to coach in Italy’s top division.
