Senate passes bill to regulate cattle rearing business in Nigeria (NewTelegraph)
The 10th Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to establish the National Animal Husbandry and Ranches Commission after a heated debate, New Telegraph reports.
The bill, sponsored by Senator Titus Tartenger Zam representing Benue North West was meant to control and regulate cattle rearing ranching business across the country.

Kaduna Assembly indicts El-Rufai, ex-commissioners for alleged siphoning of N423b (Nation)
The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Wednesday, June 5, received a report from the ad hoc committee tasked with investigating the finances, loans, and contracts awarded during former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s tenure.
The report indicted the former governor and several commissioners who served under him.

The social media platform X says it will now formally allow publication of consensual adult content, as long as it is clearly labelled as such.
The move makes official a policy already in place when the platform was known as Twitter, before billionaire Elon Musk purchased it in 2022.
In a recent update on its website, the San Francisco-based company said users “should be able to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes as long as it is consensually produced and distributed. A man with dual US-Russian nationality was sentenced by a court in Russia on Wednesday to three-and-a-half years in prison on charges of “rehabilitating Nazism.”
Yuri Malev was arrested last December over social media posts in which he was alleged to have denigrated the Saint George’s ribbon, a symbol of Russian military valor. One contained obscene language and the other showed a picture of a corpse wearing the ribbon with a caption saying “how to wear the Saint George’s ribbon correctly.”
The court in St Petersburg, where Malev was tried, said this showed disrespect for society and insulted the memory of the Great Patriotic War, as Russians refer to World War II. Read more

Zizi Kodwa, who was formally charged with taking bribes, appeared in a courtroom south of Johannesburg on Wednesday, alongside co-accused Jehan Mackay.
