IGP Egbetokun disowns policemen protecting foreigners arrested for cybercrimes (Tribune)
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun on Monday disowned Police personnel found escorting some foreigners recently arrested for cybercrimes, insisting that they were on an illegal duty as they were not officially deployed.
Speaking at a workshop organised for the standardisation of criminal investigations, for Heads of Police investigation Units nationwide in Abuja, he clarified that the police officers involved had been arrested and were currently being detained along with their Unit Commanders
According to him, “And the fact that some policemen were also seen protecting these foreigners. Yes, it is true. And the policemen have been arrested. We found out that the policemen were on illegal duty. Nobody deployed them. Read more
NAFDAC seizes counterfeit wines worth ₦41.2m in Nasarawa (Channels)
The National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has seized counterfeit wines valued at ₦41.2m following in Nasarawa State.

Court registrars in Lagos State have been equipped with skills and knowledge needed to handle domestic and sexual violence cases effectively.
The Executive Secretary of Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency(DSVA), Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, said it was also imperative that the registrars have a thorough understanding of the complexities of domestic and sexual violence and the legal framework in place to address these heinous crimes.
She said they were also exposed to the various forms of abuse, the legal remedies available to victims, and the challenges they often face in seeking justice. Read more

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says a viral naira abuse video is not from Fauziya Danjuma Goje, the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje.
The clip showed the naira freely sprayed at a wedding in Kano last month.

He died in Baton Rouge on Monday from complications stemming from pneumonia.
