In a bid to foster sustainable waste management practices and instill environmental consciousness among the younger generation, Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), Nigeria’s foremost electricity distribution company, has forged a partnership with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).
The collaboration, according to a statement by Kingsley Okotie Head, Corporate Communications, Ikeja Electric Plc, culminated in the donation of waste bins to 18 selected primary and secondary schools within Ikeja Electric’s operational purview.
At the official handover ceremony, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the MD/CEO of LAWMA, lauded Ikeja Electric for its proactive stance in addressing the critical issue of waste management.

He expressed confidence that such measures would nurture a generation of sustainability-minded individuals.
