Imo lawmakers ask Ihedioha to sack electoral commission’s chairman (Punch)

Members of the Imo State House of Assembly on Thursday passed a motion urging the state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, to sack the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, Ethelbath Ibeabuchi, and other members.

The decision was based on a motion moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Ken Agbim (Ahiazu Mbaise) and seconded by Mike Iheanetu (Aboh Mbaise).

Agbim alleged that the commission conducted the “worst election in the history of Imo State in August 2018.”

He claimed that instead of conducting an election, the commission selected people and made them chairmen and councillors of local government areas. Read more
