Instagram is reportedly testing a new update that would stop browsers being able to see how many likes a post has racked up.
The idea is to shift the emphasis onto what is being shared rather than just how popular it is. The person who shared the image will still be able to see the number of likes, but casual browsers will have no idea.
It seems like a good idea, especially as it would limit the pressure that some people feel to post images just to gain likes.
