Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has said that it is his time to win the Ballon D’ Or, telling Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo that their time is up.
The Frenchman in a recent interview with the New York Times, as reported by The Mirror, said he has always dreamed about winning everything including the Ballon D’Or.
He said a new generation is around, as such Messi and Ronaldo should give way for a new winner to emerge.
Both Messi and Ronaldo in history have won a record 12 Ballon d’Or between them with seven for Messi and five for Ronaldo.
Mbappe and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland are two youngsters who are being tipped to take over from the legendary duo.
He said: “I think I’m about to win it [the Ballon d’Or]. I always say I dream about everything. I have no limits,” Mbappe said.
“So of course, like you say, it’s a new generation. And Ronaldo, Messi — you’re gonna stop.
“We have to find someone else, someone new.”
