Soji Cole, winner of the Nigeria Prize for Literature 2018, has said that since the inception of the prize currently worth $100,000 to the winner and endowed by Nigeria LNG Limited, he has taken it as a mandate to read all the books on the longlist.
He made the declaration in an interview with thisislagos while in Lagos last Thursday for a book tour event where he read from his winning play, Embers.
“I’ve taken it as a mandate to read all the books on the Nigeria Prize for Literature longlist since the beginning up till today,” he said.
