Aston Villa have offered Jack Grealish a new £100,000-a-week deal in a bid to get the midfielder to reject a move to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old was Villa’s player of the season as Dean Smith’s side survived Premier League relegation on the final day of the campaign.
United have tracked Grealish for the last 18 months and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed by the manner in which the midfielder took the burden of keeping his boyhood club in the league last term. However, the Red Devils have cooled their interest in Grealish after Villa demanded £75m for the Birmingham-born ace, with United valuing him at closer to £55m.
Nevertheless, though a deal is not close, Villa know they must keep Grealish happy, particularly as he’s keen on a move to Old Trafford. (Metro)
